Snow Day! #WW with linky

snow-day

We had our first snow day in the last couple of years yesterday and I have to say it was quite the snow storm!

We headed out at six in the morning and spent two hours trying to clear the driveway in order to help my husband get out and to work.

My husband had the neighbour’s snow blower out and it still took us forever to make a dent in the snow

There is my car hidden in the snow.

The best part was getting to play in the snow with my babies! They were super excited to be able to spend the whole day at home playing.

Have you had a snow day yet this year? What do you do on these days?

Make Lasting Impressions with PhotoInpress #giveaway

I love capturing special moments on film. It allows me to relive the most important memories in our life with my family over and over again.

PhotoInpress was launched in Montreal in 2006 and is proud of it’s 100% Canadian product (yeah!!). Anne and Stephane developed PhotoInpress after a trip to Europe. They wanted to capture and seal these memories for their children to carry for a lifetime. What better way to do so than in a photo book!

The steps are simple and easy to follow. All you have to do is:

  • Download and install Book Designer. This is a free software to create your photo book  and took under five minutes to download on our home computer.
  • The fun part: select and arrange your pictures, edit text and create easy layouts.
  •  Click on the order button, review your order and finalize payment.
  • Your book is shipped to you at home!

The simplicity of creating the photo book was the best part for me. The hardest part was choosing the photos I wanted to use and put them in a folder to upload to the Book Designer! The book I created was a family album to give to my Dad for Christmas. In the photo book are photos of my kids, my siblings, cousins, aunts and my Grandfather. We lost out Grandfather this year to prostate cancer and I wanted to create something meaningful and an album my Dad can cherish.

Designing the layout of your photo book is quite simple and is based solely on how many photos you would like per a page and what direction you would like them (vertical or horizontal). Then click and drag your photos from the bottom bar. The bottom bar has at least fourteen photos displayed at any given time and you can click back and forth on the bottom bar to choose more photos. One of the best features (and one I haven’t seen before) is that as soon as you use a photo a check mark appears on it letting you know that it has been used. This helps to prevent duplicates and if you want to use the photo again you can do so no problem!

PhotoInpress is giving one of my Canadian readers the chance to win a $40 credit to PhotoInpress! Canadian residents, 18 years of age and older can enter via the Rafflecopter below – good luck!

Creating Lasting Memories During the Holiday Season With Posterjack #giveaway

A photograph can capture an important milestone, a special secret, a happy moment and so much more. These moments are captured forever on canvas print as a way for us to always hold on to that moment.

The holidays are the perfect time to collect the best memories of the year and have them developed into a canvas print and delivered to a special person in your life.

Canvas prints by Posterjack make not only great gifts to give to Mom and Dad but are also the best Grandparent gifts – I let our kids choose their favourite picture of themselves (sometimes we get lucky and find a great one with Grandma and Grandpa) in order to put it into print and to be framed. They love being able to give their Grandparents such a special token of love on Christmas Day.

For our family, this year will mark our first Christmas without my Grandfather. This will be extremely difficult for all of us but even more so for my Dad. We wanted to capture my Grandpa and I fell in love with this picture (he was so camera shy!) and will be enlarging it for my Dad to give him as a remembrance gift for Christmas this year.

No kids in the house? No problem!

Long before I had children I loved photography. Being able to catch a perfect moment in nature is what I loved the most. A tree bark or pond has the most intricate details if you take the time to stop and look at it.

This holiday season why not treat yourself or a loved one with your own canvas print of your work of art. My office has one wall dedicated to my own photography and it reminds me every day of my passion and to never give up on my dreams.

This holiday season, Posterjack wants to help you turn your work of art into print! They are generously giving one Working Mommy Journal reader a $100 credit to Posterjack.ca!

I am super excited for one of you – I had our wedding photographs put into prints and framed by Posterjack which were so beautiful I cried (and this was four years after my wedding!).

Canadian residents, 18 years of age and older can enter via the Rafllecopter form below. GOOD LUCK!
