Summer Berry Sangria

I am not a big red wine consumer so I was a bit nervous to try out my friend’s Sangria recipe. I was actually very surprised with the sweet taste and how refreshing the drink is. It was super easy to make but I had to adjust her recipe according to the ingredients I had in my home.

Ingredients

– 350 ml of Jackson Triggs Merlot
– 1/2 bottle of PC Citrus Fizz
– 1/2 cup of blueberries
– 1/2 cup of strawberries
– 1 orange sliced into rounds
Directions
1. Add wine to a large jug and top with Citrus Fizz.
2. Add in fruit.
3. Put in fridge for 30 minutes (or slightly longer if desired). Enjoy!

Happy Father’s Day!

Happy Father’s Day!
Wishing all you fantastic Dad’s out there a very Happy Father’s Day
We spent our Father’s Day celebrating at a soccer tournament so we did not get to do as much as we wanted for my husband or my Dad.
Every year I find it harder and harder to think of a creative gift to give them that shows how appreciated and special they are to us.
PTPA released this fantastic infographic that I really wanted to share with you.
I love the “He Said/She Said” part – it is amazing how similar we are to our partners without even realizing it! It made me realize how much I tend to over think his gifts! This year we went with gift cards to Golf Town along with steaks on the BBQ and they were both super happy.
What do you think of this infographic? Are you as surprised as I was with the responses?

ABC Friday Photo Share…W is for Weeds!

I have sadly missed the past couple of weeks on the ABC Friday Photo Share with Mom vs The Boys and Maple Leaf Mommy but I am joining back in this week!
This week W is for Weeds!

Although they look so pretty and my boys decided to collect a bunch of “flowers” for Mommy’s vase – I spent a lot of time this weekend clearing them out of our front yard. It was as if we had a sudden attack of dandelions! I wish I had taken a picture of the roots on one of these – the roots literally looked like two giant carrots (and were a pain to get out of the ground!). I am happy to say that we are now weed free (for now!).
