Love Without End by Robin Lee Hatcher #review

Learning to love and trust again after loss and pain can be a long road. Love Without End by Robin Lee Hatcher covers this and so much more.

About the Book

Chet and Kimberly have both failed in their relationships and both are scared to risk giving their heart again.

Chet’s life was forever changed when his seventeen year old son died and soon after this his wife walked out on their family. Over two years later, all he wants to do is hold on his horse ranch and raise his sons to be good men.

Kimberly is the widowed mother of Tara – a rebellious fifteen year old. She has reached the end of her finances and nearly the end of her rope. The two come to King’s Meadow in hopes to piece together their lives again. Kimberly has no intention of becoming involved with the residents of this community and certainly not in another relationship.

When Anna McKenna returns to King’s Meadow and to the Leonard ranch, she becomes an agent of change and healing for the families. With her help, Kimberly and Chet discover that true love has no end.

My Thoughts

Chet and Kimberly have been affected by loss in their lives – losses that many of us can relate to; death and being left after the passing of a child. They feel lost themselves and very much alone. Both want to be loved and to love but trusting someone with their heart is difficult. Complicating their current situations is the children in their lives that they need to put first.

I fell in love with their story of love and trust as well as watching them learn to trust each other. They are so very fragile in their trust and it was lovely to watch them to open up and learn to love again. A fantastic and well written novel from start to finish.

Quilted by Christmas by Jodie Bailey #review

A Grandmother’s last wish is to communicate God’s love through an Irish chain quilt in Quilted by Christmas.

About Quilted by Christmas

Taryn McKenna believes that she is easy to forget. Abandoned by her parents and left behind when her high school sweetheart joined the army, she vows never to love again and throws herself in to her love of the outdoors and the pursuit of a college degree – something no one else in her family has ever accomplished. Her goal as a young teacher in the hills of North Carolina is to leave a legacy in the lives of the middle school students that she teaches.

When Taryn’s Grandmother, Jemma, the only other person who ever held her close has a heart attack that reveals a fatal medical condition, Taryn is corralled into helping Grandma work on a final project – an Irish chain quilt that tells the story of her history and the love Jemma knows is out there for Taryn. As the pieces of the quilt come together, Taryn begins to see her value. Can she learn to believe that God will never leave her behind even though others have?

My Thoughts

Jodie Bailey shares a heart warming tale in Quilted by Christmas. Young Taryn has been hurt so much in the past that she finds it hard to trust and love anyone. The only person to really know her is her Grandmother. When the love of her life returns to their hometown, Jemma knows she has her work cut out for her to help her Granddaughter learn to love again.

I loved the familial connection through the Irish chain quilt. It really helped to tie in Taryn’s past and present as well as the connection she has to her Grandmother. We are able to watch Taryn grow and open up her heart again but this is not met without it’s own hardships. Quilted by Christmas is a great read start to finish.

A Lady at Willowgrove Hall by Sarah Ladd

Secrets and love swirl in the story of A Lady at Willowgrove Hall. Will the two main characters be able to forgive their past in order to live in the present and build for the future?

About A Lady at Willowgrove Hall

Cecily Faire carries the shame of her past wherever she treads, knowing one slip of the tongue could take away everything that is dear to her. But soon after accepting the position of lady’s companion at Willowgrove Hall, Cecily finds herself face to face with a man well acquainted with the past that she has desperately tried to hide for years.

Nathaniel Stanton has his own secrets – one that has haunted him from birth and tied him to his father’s position as steward of Willowgrove. To protect his family, Nathaniel dares not breath a word of the truth. But as long as the shadow looms over him, he will never be free to find his own way in the world. He will never be free to fall in love.

When the secrets swirling within Willowgrove Hall come to light, Cecily and Nathaniel must confront a painful choice: Will they continue to run from the past or will they stand together and build a future without the suffocating weights of the secrets that they have long suffered for.

My Thoughts
A lovely romantic story full of love, trust, broken promises, suffering and family. Both Cecily and Nathaniel carry such great burdens that they struggle with on a daily basis. Both find it hard to forgive themselves and to live in the current moment. Each one always allows the past to haunt them and guide their every moment.

The novel helps to teach us that sometimes we need to let go of our past, embrace it for what it was and remember it is the past and only we can shape our future. Both characters suffer under the weight of guilt and if they only learned to let it go they would be happy in their own lives and possibly in love with each other. I can’t even imagine the stress that the guilt they carry could weigh on their shoulders! Although I find it hard to let go of my own!

A lovely story from start to finish that I am already re-reading! You can find more reviews on the Litfuse blog tour page.
