A Spooky Family Adventure at Pumpkins After Dark

Nestled in an outdoor space that spans roughly 1km in Milton, Pumpkins After Dark is an amazing display of carved pumpkins that will take you on an adventure from scary to magical to awe this fall season.

My personal favourite time of the year is fall and Halloween. It is just a magical time of the year – both a tad bit scary and a lot of fun. From the costumes, to the colours, and to the pumpkins, there is something for everyone to fall in love with. The best part? Creating all the special memories with our kids!

One of those special traditions is attending the Pumpkins After Dark in Milton. It is a one km outdoor walk on gravel and through two stunning outdoor covered bridges. There are over 10,000 carved pumpkins displayed, either lighting up the walk or in brilliant character displays. A combination of scary and fun music (Michael Jackson!) add to the festivities.

The displays are absolutely stunning and at times hard to believe that they are actual pumpkins that someone has carved. It doesn’t appear possible at times! The amount of skill and time that it takes to create these displays is mind blowing. They almost do not look real with the attention to detail.

There are displays for every age and adventure type in your home – from the scary to your favourite Disney characters. Have a little one with you that frightens easily? It is very easy to skip by the scarier displays and go on to the next one to talk about the beautiful colours. Don’t miss out on the covered bridges where pumpkins are lit up on the sides and above. It also makes for a great photo opportunity!
