It’s that time of the week again! Time for the ABC Friday Photo Share brought to you by Mom vs the Boys and Maple Leaf Mommy!

This week H is for hiking!

I was a member of the Girl Guides of Canada for over ten years and they developed my love of nature and being outdoors and I hope to pass this love on to my boys.

We are lucky enough that we live super close to the city but are surrounded by such beautiful nature trails and it is not uncommon to see deer in the morning as we get ready to go to school (I will admit the first time we saw a deer a couple of feet away on this trail I had a small freak out and made my eldest son sing really loud with me in the hopes that it wouldn’t come closer- was having nightmares of being attacked by a deer similar to the ones they show on TV all the time!!).

This little hiking trail is one of our favourites and has been lovingly nicknamed, Shrek’s Forest!

My kids (AND the hubby!) love to eat chocolates and ice cream!

It is so bad that I can barely get chocolate and ice cream in the door before they are attacking the bags for their goodies! Most of the time I do not mind but lately I have been purchasing some of the Skinny Cow cones and they love those too!! (they are so expensive too!). I came home from the store to catch my boys and Daddy in action and this is what I captured:

You can just see the guilty look on his face. The little monkey man knew he was in trouble but it did not stop him from continuing to eat the cone. He loved every last lick (especially after he knew he was not getting into trouble!). How could I resist such a cute, adorable, chocolate covered face!!

F is for Fishing!!

When I first started dating my husband he loved to fish and many of our first dates were at a lake watching him fish! I did not appreciate the time spent fishing back then and would usually work on sketching while he would be in his glory sitting on the dock.

When we had our children , we would take them fishing at the lake almost every other weekend. There is something so calming and peaceful sitting on a dock, under the sun and waiting and hoping for that big catch!! Our kids love to fish now and it has been a great bonding activity for them to do with my Dad.

This particular photograph was special to us as Grandpa joined us this day! He shared his wisdom and expertise and our son caught his very first fish (nicknamed Jesse James!).
